Lost and Found

So today at work a co-worker found a one hundred dollar bill laying on the floor. He came up to my register with two of our other co-workers to see if it was real or a counter fit. I let them use one of the highlighters at my register, but it was obviously a real bill. I was disappointed to find that he was going to keep the money without turning it into management. I used to have a sort of respect for this particular co-worker because he was actually one who worked, but now I know he isn’t much different from the other people we work with. I have such a big conscience that there is no way I could keep someone else’s missing money. If it had been me who had dropped a hundred dollars and I went back to the store to find it, I would hope that someone would be thoughtful enough to turn it in. It’s like he didn’t even consider whether that was all the money that person may have had. Even though money has been tight for me lately (my fault for my recent impulse buys), I wouldn’t have thought twice to turn in the money and try to find the people it belonged to. Some people these days… It’s really a shame.
